Eagles performed at Erie Community College North in their Erie Sports Palace on May 3, 1974. They had been in Cortland, NY the day before on May 2 and Geneseo, NY on May 4. Both of those concerts were at State University of New York (SUNY) locations. Then, the Eagles were at Lock Haven State College in PA on May 7, 1974.
This show at the Sports Palace in Williamsville, New York, was a sellout, and Leo Kottke opened for them on that ‘On the Border’ tour. Don Felder was still fairly new to the band at that time.

“The tour, which climaxed with a Los Angeles appearance where the group was augmented by a string section, drew rave notices and euphoric crowds across the country.”
“Felder, who had been playing most recently with David Blue, accepted an invitation to become the fifth Eagle.”

“The Friday night of M.U.D. weekend, May 3, 1974, was a night to be remembered for a long time. It was Leo Kottke and The Eagles and a sellout crowd that created an atmosphere for a great night of music.”
“During the number ‘Desperado’, a soft blue light shined over the bass player creating an impressive background for the words to the song.”
