Randy was asked by the Boy Howdy band to come to the Palomino and get up on stage and sing “Take It To the Limit” with them. The Palomino Club was known as the “world-famous Palomino Club” and was located in North Hollywood. It was a popular club that drew in many big-name performers through the years.

- Cary Park – guitar
- Hugh Wright – drummer*
Cary Park had been in the Roberts-Meisner Band with Rick Roberts and Randy.
*Hugh Wright was involved in a serious accident in 1992 which resulted in him being in a coma for quite awhile. Randy and other musicians participated in a benefit to raise money for his expenses.

Hugh Wright, drummer for Boy Howdy, was involved in a serious accident on May 30, 1992. Randy was one of the musicians helping to raise money for medical expenses.
“…Boy Howdy’s drummer, Hugh Wright, has been in a coma or a semiconscious state since a May 30 highway accident in Texas.”

After 43 Years, Palomino Fades Into the Sunset
There was a one-time-only concert event October 8, 2018 on the site of the Palomino, North Hollywood’s storied country-music club, which closed its doors in 1995.
“Since its opening 43 years ago, the club has hosted a parade of country, rock and pop talents that includes performances by Hank Williams Sr., Ernest Tubb, Johnny Cash, Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, Roger Miller, Linda Ronstadt, Jerry Lee Lewis, Neil Young, Elvis Costello, Hoyt Axton, Glenn Campbell, Emmylou Harris, Bo Diddley, John Fogerty, Waylon Jennings, Charlie Rich and on and on.”
