The Morehead State University Eagles concert was held on campus in Wetherby Gym in Morehead, Kentucky, on December 4, 1973. Their warm-up band was the McKendree Spring band from New York, and this was part of the Eagles’ Desperado tour.
The Eagles were spotted buying Morehead shirts in the student bookstore while they were there on campus, and a few months later Randy wore his Morehead shirt when the Eagles performed on the Don Kirshner Rock Concert show. On Apri 3, 2023 the University had a special anniversary concert in honor of that Eagles concert of December 4. It was called “Take It To the Limit: Music of the Eagles”. The poster for the event is below.

“However, what the Eagles had in musical ability, they lacked in showmanship. After each song they stopped, chatted with each other, walked around the stage, changed instruments and then went on to the next song. This gave their act a ragged appearance. Also, as they played, their positions on stage changed by one silly millimeter.”

50th Anniversary of 1973 Eagles concert at Morehead State University

That’s so interesting to see that Morehead had a 50th Anniversary of the Eagles concert, and that they named it “Take It To The Limit The Music of the Eagles”.
I know! It’s impressive that kids that were not even born when the Eagles were there in 1973 participated in an event like that.
