Dynamics/Drivin’ Dynamics

Randy Meisner was one of the founding members of the Nebraska band in Scottsbluff called the Dynamics. The Dynamics became an official band November 23, 1961. He was only 15 years old at the time. After a short time they changed their name to the Drivin’ Dynamics. (Prior to the Dynamics Randy was in a band called the Deacons, which was later renamed to the Thunderbirds.) The Dynamics/Drivin’ Dynamics was a very popular band in both Nebraska and surrounding states. Even after Randy left the band to join the Soul Survivors, the Drivin’ Dynamics remained a popular and sought-after band. Photos and more info on this band can be seen on the Randy Meisner’s Early Bands page.

The Drivin’ Dynamics recorded three songs at Sully Records in Amarillo, TX in August 1965, and two of those three songs were released:

  • So Fine (Randy on lead vocal)
  • Hurt Me ( Larry Soto on lead vocal
