New Years Eve at the Shrine Auditorium – Dec. 31, 1974

The Eagles celebrated New Years Eve at the Shrine with friends Dan Fogelberg, JD Souther, Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Browne, and Joe Walsh. According to the newspaper article, the Shrine Auditorum in Los Angeles was the place to be on New Years Eve. The Eagles know how to throw a party…and bananas. Joe Walsh wasn’t a member of the band yet, so he was a guest on stage. Dan Fogelberg opened the show.

  1. We (me and my 10 good buddies) walked from my apartment on Orchard Ave to the show and it was absolutely amazing. We knew it was really cool but didn’t realize at the time exactly how cool it was. We do today, that’s for sure! Good times!

  2. My first date and first ever concert was this one! 4 of us piled into a Yellow Ford Cortina and showed up at the Shrine just in time for the show. Incredible group of talent to ring in the New Year. So much fun.

    1. Wow, I bet that was a blast to be there at that show for ringing in the New Year. A Ford Cortina was a unique car, and I don’t think there are many, if any, still on the road today. You had a special evening, to be sure.
