“Eagles have been on the road since the release of their album five weeks ago. ‘We close tomorrow night in Toronto,’ said the other fine guitarist, Glenn Frey. ‘We’ve played six dates on Joe Cocker’s tour, and several weeks with Jethro Tull.”

“Eagles are easily one of the best-rehearsed groups around. Their three- and four-part harmonies were a delight to hear throughout their show.
And they could boogie, too. Nightingale, written by Jackson Browne for them, was the best rocker, with a fine, staccato bass line by Randy Meisner, who sings like Steve Stills.”

“Despite preponderant North Shore patronage, the groups drew enthusiasts from Sherbrooke, Quebec City, Ottawa, and Vermont.”

  1. I love this reminder that Randy and Bernie were the most well known when the Eagles started out: “The Eagles are four veteran members of the Los Angeles country-rock scene, headed by Bernie Leadon and Randy Meisner, with Glenn Frey and Don Henley. Take It Easy is their single.”

  2. I love how the Montreal Star got it right early on in the Eagles’ career. “The Eagles are four veteran members of the Los Angeles country-rock scene, headed by Bernie Leadon and Randy Meisner, with Glenn Frey and Don Henley.”

    1. I almost couldn’t believe I was reading a statement like that. That was usually not pointed out, but I’m glad it was in that article.

    1. That would have been awesome to be at one of their shows when they were essentially just starting out as a band. I’m envious!
