The Roberts-Meisner Band played at the California Strawberry Festival in Oxnard, CA. It took place at Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard and was a two-day festival. (There are other strawberry festivals in California in other towns, also.) Randy Meisner and Rick Roberts and the Roberts-Meisner Band performed at this festival on Sunday, which was the second day of the festival (May 21, 1989). The Roberts-Meisner Band had been at another festival called the California Country Fest at Santa Fe Dam Recreational Area in Los Angeles the day before on Saturday, May 20, 1989.

After the show
Dan Long was called ‘Sandman’, because he created beautiful sand sculptures in large glass jars.

Now I know why Randy was wearing strawberry pink. I always wondered why and now I know.
It looks good on him, too, and not at all too girlie.
I love how Randy always tried to coordinate his clothes with the gig. Something like when he wore a red shirt, blue pants and used his white bass on July 4th in Tampa, or red and white when he was in Cincinnati.
Yep, that did seem to be his thing. I’m glad he did that, because it showed his fun side.
