The Eagles and Linda Ronstadt concert in Freeborn Hall at the University of California in Davis, CA was held on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 1972. The capacity for Freeborn Hall was 2,600, which in 1972 was probably adequate for an Eagles/Linda Ronstadt concert since they were not as well known yet.
Since there were no chairs in the hall, everyone brought their own pillow in order to sit on the floor to watch the concert. It was typical to have “pillow concerts” at Freeborn Hall.

“Miss Ronstadt will appear with her band in the ‘pillow concert’ (no chairs, seating on the floor).“
“Eagles have been together only a year, but came out last summer with a hit, ‘Take It Easy’.”

There are several typos in the following two-page California Aggie article.
“The band also features a super pedal-steel player named Sneaky Pete Kleinow who was later called out by Eagles to do some numbers.”

“They did two bluegrass numbers, a Jackson Browne and a stunning ‘How Long’, best of the night.”
“The unannounced, mostly unnoticed presence of Neil Young, who is considering touring with Eagles, combined with all other elements to round out a thoroughly unlikely evening.”
