Indiana Fairgrounds Coliseum Eagles concert with Yes and Gentle Giant – Sept. 20, 1972

The Indiana Fairgrounds Coliseum Eagles concert with Yes and Gentle Giant was on September 20, 1972. It was in Indianapolis at the State Fair Coliseum building located on the fairgrounds property. It is now called the Indiana Farmers Coliseum. Gentle Giant opened the show first, followed by the Eagles, then Yes as the headliner. This concert was part of the Eagles’ first tour and was one of many that the Eagles opened for Yes. Another show they opened for Yes was at the Carolina Coliseum in Columbia, SC a few days later on October 2, 1972.

I was honored to receive the two copyrighted stage photos below directly from the concert photographer, Neil Sharrow.

“The Eagles came on strong, although not quite screaming, for their set which proved their versatility both vocally and instrumentally in performing out-of-the-rut tunes of differing tempos and moods with musical acumen and sensitivity.”

  1. Love the copyrighted pictures that Neil Sharrow shared with you. You can tell by the pictures that the early Eagles truly enjoyed what they were doing by the smiles on all of their faces.
