The Market Square Arena Eagles concert was November 22, 1976 in Indianapolis, IN. JD Souther opened the show for the Eagles. This concert was part of the Hotel California tour, and their Hotel California album was due to be released in just a few days on December 8, 1976.

The Eagles were at Purdue University in Indiana two days earlier on November 20. November of 1976 was an extremely busy month for the band. They were somewhere performing almost every night during that month.

The caption under the photo below identifies the guitar player as Don Felder. Actually, it’s Joe Walsh, of course.

“Other songs on the bill included ‘Hotel California’ from the upcoming Eagles’ album by the same name–it’ll be released within the next couple of weeks–‘Lyin Eyes,’ ‘Wasted Time,’ (also from the new LP) ‘Take It to the Limit’ and a dozen others from the quintet’s bushel basket of gold and platinum albums and singles.”

The writer got Joe Walsh and Randy Meisner mixed up when describing their roles in the band and the guitars they played.
