Miami Baseball Stadium Eagles concert – July 2, 1977

The Miami Baseball Stadium Eagles concert took place on July 2, 1977 before a sell-out crowd. It was the evening after the Savannah Civic Center show of July 1, 1977 and one of Randy Meisner’s last appearances with the Eagles. This was near the end of the Hotel California tour. There were two opening acts…first Andrew Gold and then Jimmy Buffett opened the show for the Eagles. By the time the Eagles took the stage, it was evening.

“Add to that well-carved slice of life the fact that the Eagles deliver their material with music that is impeccable both vocally and instrumentally, music that mixes country with rock and pop to form a unique sound, and you have some of the reasons behind the Eagles’ continuing success.”

Miami Herald (Miami, FL) – July 1, 1977

“It was a scene of nearly 30,000 screaming Eagles fans Saturday night as they crammed into Miami Stadium for a six-hour concert.”

Miami Herald (Miami, FL) – July 3, 1977

“Saturday night, the Eagles sounded good. Their four-guitar lineup gives them a power few contemporary bands possess. Newest Eagle, Joe Walsh, is powerful enough on his own, and his guitar provides the band with a strength it never had before.”
