Randy Meisner at Paradise Theatre with the Silverados on March 15, 1981, was their Boston debut. The local band Cabin Fever opened for them. The Silverados started the show with “Gotta Get Away”, and they progressed forward with “Take It To The Limit” and had a fun time performing for the audience the whole evening. An earlier show for them was at the Bottom Line in New York March 11-12. A few days later (March 19) they would be at Paramount Northwest in Seattle.
I was able to correspond with the photographer of the three magazine photos below. I asked if there were pics or negatives available that might be lighter and show more detail than what printed out on the magazine pages. He very graciously replied back to me:
Hi Diana,
Well, it’s very cool that you have a copy of my old magazine! That too was a labor of love. I shot the pics and remember that evening well. My editor and I sat with Randy for about a half hour after the show and he was kind and generous with his time and insight. Unfortunately, I lived on the coast just north of Boston and in the late 80s my home was flooded and my darkroom was under saltwater for 5 days and I lost my precious negatives and archival copies of the magazine. Not only Randy, but David Bowie, Mick Jagger, Ray and Dave Davies, Robert Palmer, Lou Reed just to name a few all went out to sea so to speak. So only the memories remain. So sorry, of course I would have contributed the images. Wish I could help you out here, thanks for the memory.
Warm regards,
Kerry
This is one more testament to Randy. He took time to talk to the photographer after being on stage and probably had a good time doing so, because it seems like both Randy and Kerry would have been easy to talk with. But I was so sorry I brought up a memory of a traumatic event to Kerry.

Boston Phoenix magazine – Feb. 24, 1981
Music World magazine review by Cori Crumb – June 1981
“The music was high volume and high energy. There were a few minor problems like unclear lyrics and Randy’s voice sounded strained until he warmed up, though it wasn’t detrimental to the overall quality of the concert.”
“On the whole, the evening was entertaining and piqued the curiosity of many.”

Some corrections: Therese Heston is the correct spelling for Randy’s harmony singer. The drummer’s name is Craig Krampf, rather than Craig Cram, and the bass player’s name is Brian Garofalo.
